Telling the Story Behind the Job: A Recruitment Video Campaign for Module

Hiring great people is one of the biggest challenges companies face today. A simple job listing often isn’t enough anymore, people want to understand the culture, the team, and what the work actually looks like before they apply.

That’s exactly what this project set out to solve.

I recently partnered with Module to produce a recruitment-focused video campaign designed to help attract new team members. Instead of creating a single video, we developed a series of short and long-form pieces that show the real people behind the company and what it’s like to be part of the team.

The goal was simple: give potential applicants an authentic look at the work, the environment, and most importantly, the people who make the company what it is..

A Multi-Video Recruitment Campaign

Client: Module
Project: Recruitment Video Campaign
Deliverables: 1 Promo Ad, 2 Short-Form Ads, 1 Hype Video

The campaign included several pieces of content, each serving a different purpose in the hiring funnel.

Rather than producing a single recruitment video, the project was built as a small campaign of four videos, each designed to highlight a different aspect of working at Module and connect with potential applicants in different ways.

“The People at Module”
This promo-style video focuses on what employees consistently said they love most about working at Module — the people. Team members share their favorite part of being at the company, creating an authentic and relatable look at the culture and relationships that define the workplace.

“Is Module Right For You?”
This short-form ad takes a more direct approach, featuring a talking-head message that explains why Module might, or might not, be the right fit for someone. Paired with on site b-roll of the team at work, the video gives viewers a quick and honest snapshot of the role and work environment.

“Quality From the Top Down”
Another short-form piece that emphasizes the company’s commitment to craftsmanship and standards. Through visuals of team members working on site, the video highlights the pride and attention to detail that go into every project.

“Build a Better Future at Module”
This high energy hype video uses music, fast-paced editing, and dynamic b-roll to showcase the work culture and opportunity at Module. On-screen text reinforces the message and the video closes with a clear call to action encouraging viewers to apply.

Together, these videos create a flexible recruitment content library that Module can use across social media, job postings, and hiring campaigns — helping potential applicants see not just the job, but the people and culture behind it.

Showing the Work Behind the Job

One of the most important goals for this project was authenticity.

Instead of staging scenes, we captured the team in real working environments, documenting the day to day energy of the job. From candid conversations to action shots on site, the goal was to give potential applicants a clear sense of what it’s actually like to be part of the team.

For companies trying to hire skilled workers, this kind of transparency can be incredibly powerful. When candidates can see the people and culture behind a job posting, it builds trust and excitement before they even submit an application.

Why Recruitment Videos Matter

Video has become one of the most effective tools for employer branding and recruitment marketing. A strong hiring video can:

  • Help companies stand out in a competitive job market

  • Show real team culture instead of just describing it

  • Give applicants confidence about the workplace environment

  • Create reusable content for social media and hiring platforms

For growing companies, this kind of content can turn a traditional job listing into a compelling story about the people behind the work.

Looking Ahead

Projects like this are a great reminder that storytelling isn’t just for advertising products, it’s also about telling the story of the people who make a company what it is.

If your company is looking to improve hiring outreach or build a stronger employer brand, recruitment video campaigns like this can be a powerful way to connect with the right candidates.
